In early 1990’s, Rinnai revolutionised the Australian water heating market when it launched the first electronic controlled Gas Continuous Flow Hot Water System, the Rinnai Infinity. The Rinnai Infinity delivered a new user experience of steady and continuous temperature controlled hot water that never ran out.
28 years later, the Rinnai Infinity has changed the game again with significant improvements and changes recently being made to its flagship models; Infinity 16 litre, 20 litre, 26 litre and 26 litre Touch as well the addition of a new 12 litre offering. The Infinity range still offers the same high level performance and quality the Rinnai brand is renowned for.
Rinnai is so confident in the quality of their product that they are the first hot water company in Australia to encourage home owners to service their Rinnai Continuous Flow Hot Water systems, which keeps the unit running at its optimal efficiency and is also backed by an extended 25 year warranty. The market leading warranty allows consumers to gain further warranty extensions at every 5 year scheduled service intervals carried out by a licensed technician.
Rinnai Continuous Flow hot water products have also been designed and engineered to withstand tough Australian conditions while also never running out of hot water. This, coupled with great reliability, makes the Rinnai Infinity an ideal choice for your customers, and for you.
Huey Lewis and the News made it hip to be square back in the 1980s. Now Bounty Brassware has made it happen all over again with their range of square Bermuda Tile Insert Floor Waste grates.
Tilers have given the Bermuda range two thumbs up because the grates are as easy as to work with and install. Architects, designers and homeowners have done the same because they like the way the grates disappear into the overall décor. Of course, the grates also suit anyone who wants to make a bold statement as the centre tile can provide contrast.
“But where does the water go?” Many customers ask the same question, and with the current water crisis our sunburnt country is facing it is important to take a load off their minds and let them know it doesn’t just disappear. The water escapes past the tile insert where it then flows through the brass waste body to join the waste pipes, just like a normal floor grate.
So, however you look at it, the Bermuda Tile Insert Floor Waste range from Bounty Brassware is the only choice when only the best will do!
It’s clear that Bounty Brassware certainly aren’t sitting on their hands when it comes to new product development. They have another gamechanger — the ‘World’s First Pop Down® Waste’ for both baths and basins. It doesn’t get any smarter than this. With the waste open in the flush position, the Pop Down® looks great and the water simply washes past and disappears. The floating Pop Down® cartridge carries a lifetime replacement warranty. It’s no trouble to clean and customers can forget ever losing jewellery down the drain again.
The combination of clever designs and superior quality make Art Plastics and Bounty Brassware the best decision every time. Head to their website to find out more about their great range of products at artplastics.com.au
Each year the Master Plumber’s Association of Queensland (MPAQ) gives the Queensland industry’s best a right royal pat on the back at the Plumbing and Gas Industry Awards. This year on 20 July, the nineteenth annual awards – proudly sponsored by Tradelink – was held at Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre and saw a record number of women take centre stage, taking home gongs across a range of categories.
MPAQ Awards Night
The winners include Kathy Akins for the Women in Business Award and Rachael Keiley for the Women in Plumbing and Gas Award. Sarah Condie was also recognised as a finalist in the fiercely contested Third Year Apprentice of the Year in which Kurt Finch took home the prize. The increased number of female nominees and winners for this year’s awards shows a shift in what has been a traditionally male-dominated field.

The word from the judges is that it was a very tough field this year. The quality of nominees and winners shows that there are plenty of hard working plumbers out there raising the bar and seeking further training and this has led to the introduction of some new and innovative ways to work and do business.
Tradelink also sponsored the Industry Mentor of the Year award on the night. It was taken out by Nathan Morgan from Brisbane. With 20 years construction experience, Nathan is now a lead trainer overseeing the training and assessment delivered to over 300 apprentices across four different plumbing trade qualifications, along with post-trade courses delivered to several hundred people annually.

Keep up the good work and if you’re in Queensland, we might just see you take centre stage at the awards next year!
The team at Tradelink Mission Beach in Far North Queensland recently landed a big project supplying plumbing products for the Rotary Mission Beach 'Splash n Dunk' at Rotary Park on Wongaling Beach – the most expensive project Rotary have undertaken in Australia.
The main picnic shelter at Rotary Park in Mission Beach was badly damaged during Cyclone Yasi in 2011 and had to be demolished. Large areas of the foreshore park were also lost. To help develop a more resilient park, the Carroway Coast Regional Council worked with the Mission Beach Rotary Club to rebuild and upgrade the damaged or destroyed park facilities.
As part of this project, Rotary took on the responsibility of funding, designing, constructing and installed a water play area and associated infrastructure
Splash n Dunk. The Splash n Dunk features a panoramic view of the well-known Family Group of Islands and is designed to provide a safe, fun, free spot for families, particularly during the hot summer months when jellyfish prevent people from being able to enjoy a cool off in the ocean.
Splash n Dunk incorporates computer controlled water features including major water spray activity, five water room mushrooms, three cannons, 25 ground pop up jets and the 400 litre ‘Bucket-O-Fun’. It is separated into two play areas to accommodate a range of different children’s age groups
Tradelink Mission Beach supplied a huge range of products for the project including several kilometres worth of pipes and pressure pipes for the jets.
The Splash n Dunk project recently finished up just in time for the community to enjoy it during the warm North Queensland Spring and Summer months. The official opening caused quite a splash with over 500 people attending! Splash n Dunk is open 8am to 8pm daily in Mission Beach.
This Father’s Day, whether you’re on the giving or receiving end of a new pair of jocks, it’s time you checked your plumbing, and we’re not talking about the PVC kind. Use Father’s Day every year as your reminder to book yourself a health check with your local GP.
Did you know?
- Five men die every hour from a disease that could have been prevented through early detection.
- Each day, 50 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer. More men die from prostate cancer than women die from breast cancer. While prostate cancer is more common in older men, all men are at risk.
- The leading cause of death for Australian males is hearth disease (including angina, heart attacks, strokes and blocked arteries). Smoking, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, diabetes, being inactive, being overweight and an unhealthy diet are all risk factors for heart disease and they can all be changed.
- Approximately one in 11 Queensland men will be diagnosed with melanoma before the age of 85. In 2017, more than five Australian’s died from melanoma each day. Wearing sunscreen, a hat and other protective clothing, and avoiding exposure to the sun when its rays are most intense are steps you can take to protect yourself from melanoma.
- 95% of men do not consume sufficient fruit and vegetables.
- 86% are overweight or obese.
- 60% do not exercise sufficiently to obtain health benefits.
If Father’s Day is the day you bring the family together, use it to have a chat to all the blokes who are there and tell them to get their health checked and do the same. That way everyone will be around for many Father’s Days to come.
