New branches to support Victorian plumbers!

Oct 04, 2016

If you’re in Victoria, you’ll be seeing a whole lot more of us! This week we opened three new trade branches in Victoria as part of our bold expansion strategy.

The new branches – located in Ravenhall (in the western suburbs of Melbourne), Bell Park in North Geelong and Mornington – will offer local plumbers and builders quality plumbing supplies from leading brands, along with the ‘true blue’ customer service Tradelink is known for!

Tradelink’s General Manager, Alan Ball says that we’re investing significantly in our network over the coming years, with plans to open 20 new branches annually.

“Feedback shows that plumbers prefer not to travel more than 15 minutes from a job to get parts, so we want to make sure that no matter where our customers are working, there is a Tradelink branch nearby,” he said. “We have engaged with our local branch network to understand where the gaps are. Then we put a dot on the map and effectively fill that gap.”

Located at 285 Thompson Road, Bell Park, the North Geelong branch is headed up by born and bred local, Aaron Storvik. Aaron, who has been with the company for almost four years, started out as a Driver and has since worked his way up to Assistant Manager and now Branch Manager. As the son of a Tradelink veteran of 44 years, Aaron has plumbing supplies in his blood and is continuing his family’s legacy by following in the footsteps of his father.

The suburb of Ravenhall was selected to support the area’s growth potential, says Head of Operations (South), David Press. “West Melbourne is a significant growth corridor for Melbourne. With new developments, a mix of high and medium-density construction, and plenty of plumbers servicing residential renovations, we saw this as an opportunity to support the local trade community.”

The branch is located at 3/29 Westwood Drive, Ravenhall and leading the team is Branch Manager, Nick Gill, who joins Tradelink with a strong background in hardware supplies and store management.

The Mornington branch has relocated from Mornington-Tyabb Road to 22 Bayport Court and is headed up by Branch Manager, Jake Vanderkolk. Jake has been with the Mornington branch for four years, working his way up from Branch Assistant to Assistant Manager and Branch Manager.

“Investing in growing and developing people throughout their career is a key focus for Tradelink. Across all of our new stores, we’ve got a great mix of knowledgeable, experienced and passionate people, so our customers can be assured they’re in good hands,” says David.

If you’re in the area, drop by and say g’day to the teams!
