Double trouble! We’ve opened new branches in Adelaide and Brisbane!

Aug 29, 2016

Great news! We’ve opened not one, but two new trade stores today – one in Adelaide and one in Brisbane – as part of our branch expansion strategy that will see even more Tradelink branches popping up across the country over the next few years.

Our new Brisbane branch is located in the inner north-western suburb of Newmarket.

Tradelink’s General Manager of Operations, Tim Broxham said that Newmarket was picked to improve travel times for tradies and for its proximity to development projects and refurbishment and maintenance areas.

“There’s a good mix of high and medium-density construction in the area, and plenty of plumbers servicing the renovation and maintenance markets. We saw this as an opportunity to support the local trade community and give our customers a local point of call,” he said.

“Feedback shows that SME plumbers prefer not to travel more than 15 minutes from a job to get parts, so we want to make sure that no matter where plumbers are working, there is a Tradelink store nearby.

Newmarket Branch Manager, Brent Holden is a plumber by trade, who switched sides to Tradelink a few years ago and has since worked his way up from Branch Assistant to 2IC and now Branch Manager.

“Brent’s been on the other side of the counter, so plumbers can be assured they’ll be speaking to someone who has experience in the trade and the know-how to help tackle any plumbing problem,” Tim said.

The new Klemzig store in Adelaide is a great example of where Tradelink has identified opportunities to continue improving our service offering to tradies by positioning stores in convenient locations.

“The new store is located on North East Road – one of Adelaide’s busiest roads – with great access and generous onsite parking, so our customers can get in and out and back to site.”

Yannicke Schapel will head up the Klemzig as Branch Manager. Yannicke has been with Tradelink since 2008, and over the past eight years has worked in a number of roles across the business. She is also proud to be South Australia’s second female Branch Manager.

Tradelink’s General Manager, Alan Ball says that diversity is a key focus for the business.

“People maybe look at plumbing and think that it’s a male-dominated industry, and that may have been the case, but I believe that’s changing,” he said. “We’ve got a lot of great people in Tradelink, both male and female. We’re a diverse business, part of a large diverse group in Fletcher Building, and that gives people future opportunities as well.

“We want to ensure that we develop people right the way through their careers. Yannicke is a great example of how someone with talent, desire and work ethic can progress their career with Tradelink.”

The new branches will both offer their local plumbing and building communities quality plumbing supplies from leading brands, along with the first-class customer service Tradelink is known for.

The Newmarket branch is located at 22 Finsbury Street, Newmarket and the Klemzig branch is located at 300 North East Road, Klemzig. So if you’re nearby, drop by and say g’day to the teams!
